HAPPY 2015!!!

HAPPY 2015 EVERYONE!!! Hope you’ve all had a good NYE and a great start to another year of wargaming! I’m personally impressed with how well I’ve started off the year, especially with the complete lack of posts I’ve been placing up here. I’ve actually been painting!

YAY Painting bench!!! I was working on the bases before returning to the rest of the mini.
I hate painting bases...the way I base means so much paint has to be used :(
Well in the process of painting…all the Haramakis, a few left over Keisotsu and some other bits and pieces. I still have no idea how to paint my Aragatos, my Domaru or my ninjas…which makes me sad currently but it’ll come to me!!!

Anywho I thought I would make this post to wrap up some loose ends, and also to cap of 2015 with a plan post for what to do this year in an effort to motivate myself to do things!

2014 Wrap up

Oh god I haven’t touched anything Necromunda related bar Cypher related in ages and that makes me sad. I really should try and finish that Plasma Cannon conversion, and finish sticking the heavies together. HOWEVER I do have my enforcers to show you…who are also in a lack of painted state…however they are cool and you will see them sometime this month!
Also the terrain is still very much a WIP, currently it's all at my FLGS in a box.

Infinity JSA
I plan on giving this one a better update later. Basically I haven't finished painting anything bar what you've already seen and the stuff in the photo above is my current WIP. With N3 new stuff is happening so as said a post will be in order about that.

Terrain
It’s undercoated, but at a higher priority than my Necromunda terrain, they need to be sprayed with a matt vanish before I do anything.

Infinity at the FLGS
Terrain hasn’t progressed too much but we now have a commission painter painting stuff for us (adpaint, check it out). The Slow Grow League went really well as well (had a 5 or 6 game winning streak for a bit there!).

Yeah, the game hasn’t taken off here yet and I actually don’t like how the models look IRL (the renders were so awesome though). Rather sad about this kickstarter, especially because Mantic are having issues getting off the ground in Australia as well. However the terrain looks sick and I will eventually be getting more. In the same veil as Deadzone, I rather like the look of the mats made for Mars Attacks. Might have to get a couple

2015 Looking forward!

Paint all the JSA miniatures!!! No seriously I want to slowly paint them over the year, should try and do 2 minis a week with any luck! Also with N3 in existence I plan on expanding into Yu Jing as a whole…should be fun!
Also with my terrain try and finish it over the course of the year…I have less than 52 weekends to it so year should be do-able!

Is coming! At least I know what the minis will look like (unlike Deadzone). So pumped for this! I’ll try and get 2 of the factions up and running asap (with paint too) and try and kick of a MERCS community at my FLGS. Seriously, I'm getting all the factions and a stack of NPCs. My mate Sync Wargaming has a lot of awesome MERCs stuff on his blog. Check it out!

Backed at the starter level and got some more Council bits and bobs as well. I plan on using them in Infinity as a Mercenary company my friend Daboarder has helped me name; Cierna Slnko, the Black Suns. With the Infinity RPG coming out they will be handy there too. Found out as well from one of the Last Saga sculptors, who also sculpted most of the Nomads in Operation Ice Storm, that they are the same scale as the new Infinity minis, win!!!

He made this nice Company logo for me too!!!

Very little, finish some conversions and maybe leave it at that for a while…or do what I did in 2013 and kill Infinity and bring Necro to the FLGS…will play that one by ear.

Ok this is actually a pen and paper RPG with a cyberpunk horror vibe set in Japan in 2065. Another mate ran a campaign back in 2012 and it was a lot of fun, I’m planning on making a short 6 player campaign with a military vibe.

TL;DR
- Paint all JSA minis
- Get into Vanilla Yu Jing (Lone Pathfinder would be proud)
- Paint two of the factions of MERCS when they come in
- Write a short Kuro Campaign
- Paint Last Saga Minis
- Finish my Infinity Terrain

I should be able to do that in a year right?

ANDANOTHERTHING
Before I forget I noticed a few months ago that one of the blogs I keep tabs on has added me to their blog roll! Thankyou Wayward Warcor aka Certs for putting my blog up on your site! Means a lot to have one of the bigger Infinity Blogs having my little blog up there! Cheers!!!

Cheers

Last Saga Kickstarter

I’m back! But this isn’t the post that I wanted it to be as there is something else I thought I might post to get me back into the swing of things.

Much like my last post which was a kickstarter (that I backed, and I’m getting all the factions apparently…where the hell will I store them?!), there’s another kickstarter that has peaked my interested; Last Saga.

So this is a sci-fi setting, with sculpts 3D renders that look on par to Infinity but will possibly be the same scale as Infinity. Also the Council weapons have a strange similarity to Nomad weapons (looking at you combi rifle!).

The only model so far! And it's true scale too!

Just look at that Battle rifle and then look at a Nomad combi
Separated at birth?!

Brief run down; two factions so far, the Council (humans), and the Uruthvel (aliens who’s women do not wear that much apparently), small scale skirmish play (6-15 models), alternative activation I believe and a lot of counter flipping! Rules seem ok from the outset, but the vibe I’m getting is a lot of people want the Council models for Infinity!

Council Fusilier and KS exclusive Manticore
Uruthvel Officer and Undaunted
Hell, I want them for a Merc unit! Been having issues though as to what profiles to give the Fusiliers, either PanO Fusiliers, or Bolts, or maybe Celestial Guard.

So we have a Phantom, 3 Fusiliers, an Officer and a Manticore
OR
We have a Hexa, 3 Fusiliers/Bolts/non specific merc goons, an Officer and unsure

As far as skirmish games go and models for that matter, these guys are coming off pretty cheaply, so there might be a bargain in here!  As in the starter set for the Council faction above is only £18!

I have two issues though:
·         Bar the civilian, who looks awesome and I plan on getting, there are no other sculpts at this stage, they really should have the sculpts for a few more for a miniature kickstarter (which defeats the purpose of kickstarter but oh well)
·         The Uruthvel are just too scantily clad for my likings, plus the men are heavily armoured. They just feel a little inappropriate. Maybe if the men wore less? Maybe if the model has more armour on it? Don’t know, but I have a feeling not many of them are going to ship.

That’s just my opinion anyway! And as far as I can tell, more sculpts are in coming too. Oh and they’ve already been fully funded, and expecting to ship in November (so January right?!).

Cheers!
